We are proud to have saddled the 2009 “Horse of the Year” at the Finger Lakes Race Track, Mr. Windjammer. We are also proud to have owned and run the hard knocking mares Sorority Sister, No More Lilly’s and Isn’t She Grand.
Stonegate Racing Stables looks to the future with outstanding foal crops by some of the top sires in the country like Mineshaft, Scat Daddy, Colonel John, Smoke Glacken, Successful Appeal and Ghostzapper.
Our broodmare band includes mares out of Giant’s Causeway, Awesome Again, Dixieland Band, Medaglia d’Oro, Malibu Moon, Dixie Union, Lemon Drop Kid, Indian Charlie, Street Cry and Tale of The Cat.
Bred to race or sell, our pedigrees have been selected to produce a quality race horse that any owner or trainer would be proud to run and own.
Breeding Programs
Stonegate Racing Stables breeding program continues to evolve as our farm, racing partnerships and sales continue to grow. Stonegate believes that our strong mares help set the stage for the program and then we add a mix of proven and new to market sires. Our emphasis on sires is to breed to a horse that has the qualities that best fit the mare….we want to enhance her weaknesses without diminishing her strengths. Stonegate works with bloodstock agents to help evaluate our breedings through Nicking and individual analysis of the mare’s and sire’s physicals. By reviewing our recent breedings, it will be evident that our sire choices give us both options…to race or sell commercially. The primary goal of our breeding program is to make great New York bred race horses!
